Overview

I know there are times in your life that can be difficult.  Things might feel really tough just now and maybe even overwhelming.  Taking the first step to ask for help can feel daunting and I hope that once you’ve finished reading, you’ll let me help you with the next steps.

As an accredited psychotherapist, I offer a place where you can be listened to, a place where you’ll have the space and time to be really heard and a place where you can share the things that you’re struggling with at the moment and allow yourself to be your true self.

Therapy can help you find ways to manage what’s going on for you right now and help you to feel better.  It gives you the chance to explore your feelings and understand yourself more.  I offer tailored therapy which is as individual as you are and my focus will always be on you and your needs and your wants in each session.

So what might you bring to sessions?  My current clients, adults of all ages, bring a range of things including anxiety and depression, relationship issues, past trauma, bereavement, workplace stress and low self-esteem/self-worth.  Many don’t feel happy within themselves and want to make changes or maybe find a way to cope with something they can’t change.

How I work?  My work is grounded in a humanistic, person-centred approach, which simply means the relationship comes first.  I’m here to listen closely, without judgement and to really try to understand your world from your perspective. I’ll reflect your feelings and thoughts openly and honestly, so you can hear yourself more clearly and make sense of what’s going on for you. I believe that everyone has an innate drive to grow, heal and become more fully themselves when they’re met with genuine understanding and support.

Together we can explore what’s happening in your life right now, how your relationships are shaping you and any past experiences that may still be affecting you.  As your self-awareness grows, it often becomes easier to make meaningful changes, feel more in control, and move forward in a way that feels authentic to you.

I offer clients the opportunity to work creatively with resources, such as cards, pens, sand trays and objects that help them express their feelings.

Initial consultationBuilding a successful therapeutic relationship between us is essential in creating the best environment for us to work together.  Consequently, I offer an initial 30 minute free, no obligation consultation so that we can talk about why you’ve come for counselling.  We can get to know each other and discuss how I might be able to help you and I hope that will be the start of building a trusted relationship where you feel free to talk openly and really be your true self.

Working Creatively

Some clients find it helpful when we work creatively in therapy, using tools like visual mapping, objects, or drawings to bring thoughts and feelings to life. Working in this way can make the internal more tangible, helping them see patterns clearly, connect with emotions in a grounded way, and open up new perspectives that talking alone might not reveal. It’s a gentle, engaging way to deepen insight and support meaningful change.
